About Maximilien Vergnaud

I’m Maximilien Vergnaud, a qualified osteopath (D.O.) born and raised in Charente. After more than ten years of practice in France and abroad, I now see patients at my practice in Confolens, in English or French.

Training

  • Osteopathy diploma, 2010: Collège Ostéopathique Sutherland, Bordeaux.
  • Further training in visceral and cranial osteopathy: an extra year of study in 2012.
  • University diploma in nutrition.

Experience

  • 2011, India: five months of practice, mostly home visits.
  • 2012, endurance motorcycling: osteopath for Racing Team Sarazin #66 in the FIM Endurance World Championship, including the Le Mans 24 Hours.
  • 2013-2014, Morocco: a year of practice in Marrakech.
  • 2017-2019, Nigeria: private practice in Abuja.
  • 2019-2021, Portugal: I ran the Kalostéo practice in Lisbon, set in a large yoga and meditation studio in the city centre.
  • 2021-2026, Nigeria: practice in Port Harcourt.
  • Athletes: alongside my practice, I have treated professional footballers and an Olympic champion.

A local commitment

In 2022 I founded Le Dos de nos Paysans (“our farmers’ backs”), a charity offering free osteopathy sessions on farms in Charente, to relieve those who work the land.

Today in Confolens

My practice focuses on neck and back pain, lumbago and tension between the shoulder blades, often caused by desk work or physical jobs, and on athletes, from preparation to recovery after an injury. For babies and young children, I’ll gladly refer you to a specialised colleague.
